1.當只有兩種相對的選擇時，要使用whether...or (not)︰
Whether I do the dishes or you do them, they still need to be cleaned.
不管是妳還是我，總得有人洗碗。
2.當選擇性不受限制時，才使用no matter︰
No matter who does the dishes, they still need to be cleaned.
不管是誰，總得有人洗碗。
3.例外︰it doesn't matter whether...屬於加強語氣的用法，是壹獨立子句，後面若要接句子，必須要使用分號。
It doesn't matter whether you like it or not; I'll still do it anyway.
妳喜不喜歡都不要緊，我就是要做。(此時matter當動詞，解釋為「要緊」)
