威廉·格林（1786～1859）
他們都是德國民間文學搜集整編者。出身官員家庭，均曾在馬爾堡大學學法律，又同在卡塞爾圖書館工作和任格延根大學教授，1841年同時成為格林科學院院士。他倆***同編成《兒童與家庭童話集》（1857年出最後壹版，***216篇故事）。此外，格林兄弟從1808年起，開始搜集德國民間傳說，出版《德國傳說》兩卷，***585篇。他們還編寫了《德語語法》（1819～1837）、《德國語言史》（1848）及《德語大辭典》（1852）前4卷等學術著作，為日爾曼語言學的發展做出了貢獻。
