出生自非洲西部的陌生國度塞內加爾的Akon，七歲時隨父親舉家搬到美國的紐澤西，從第三世界進入水泥叢林，阿肯始終郁郁寡歡，好在他運動神經發達的本錢讓他拿到籃球獎學金，順利進入大學，無奈就當他意氣風發、立誌成為職業球員時，不幸摔壞了膝蓋。天生反骨的阿肯開始在街頭討生活，甚至還因為偷車被逮入獄，三年的苦牢讓他徹底洗心革面，決心走上正途，於是阿肯透過音樂、用音樂紀錄生活，壹人身兼詞曲創作/制作編曲，推出首張大碟《愛情煩惱》。好歌不寂寞，專輯壹推出就連坐英國金榜2周冠軍和R&B榜6周冠軍，首支單曲"Lonely"也空降英國金榜冠軍蟬連2周。被紐約時報譽為“塞內加爾的驚喜”，寂寞先生阿肯特有的騷靈嗓音讓每首歌都充滿全新生命，不論是輕柔饒舌的歌曲、還是派對勁歌都有自己的風格，就像聽到壹個最原始的非洲靈魂對妳親聲吟誦壹段段街頭故事。未來還可能會參選塞內加爾總統的阿肯，就要走出寂寞，為妳歌唱。
